You have already know the processor but its ability is determined by a word or unit i.e. GHz. We have earlier talked that number of GHz is directly proportional to the power of processor. But what is GHz, let’s know about it –

Before understanding about Gigahertz we have to understand what is CPU clock rate or CPU clock speed. Inside the processor there is a type of watch or clock. How many times it spins in one second or time taken in counting is called Clock speed and the unit of this clock is Hertz. Which means if your CPU’s ability is 1 hertz then the clock spins 1 time in one second. Have a look to this table given below –
• 1 GigaHertz = 1000 MegaHertz = 1,000,000 KiloHertz = 1,000,000,000 Hertz
• 1 Megabyte = 1024 Kilobyte = 1,000,000 byte = 1024 Hertz
Thus, 1 GigaHertz means 1,000,000,000 Hertz. What does it mean is if on your processor is written 2.1 GHz then it can count (2.1 * 1,000,000,000) = 2100000000 Kilobyte data in 1 second.
